The National SME Festival 2012: Boost Indonesian SME Business

Initiated by Google and supported by Google Business Group Indonesia, KADIN, PANDI, Bakrie Connectivity, APTIKOM, Melsa, Multiply.com, and the Ministry of SMEs, the festival gathered around 1,400 SMEs at the SME Tower Jakarta. There were around 200 people who came from beyond greater Jakarta. Some were from Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Jogja, Palu, and Sumatra. It’s the biggest gathering of SMEs ever in Indonesia.

Titled “Being a Solid and Creative SME”, the event consisted of seminars by renowned speakers such as Hermawan Kartajaya (marketing guru), Bob Sadino (celebrated entrepreneur), Mario Teguh (motivational speaker) as well as Indonesia’s SMEs Deputy Minister, Mr. Choirul Djamhari, as a special keynote speaker. Throughout the day the speakers delivered insightful presentation and talks to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of Indonesia's SMEs and help them to excel with entrepreneurial skills, forward-looking attitude in growing their business ahead, and the right marketing knowledge including online marketing. With the help of iTrain, we also trained SMEs on how to go online with Google Sitebuilder. At this event, eligible SMEs could directly get their free website including a domain name for a year.

  1. This sounds like a great idea. I hope this event happens regularly. SME's could also gain a lot by getting professional SEO web design services.

  2. I hope the Calgary web designers would also have regular conferences and seminars like this. It would really be helpful for us designers when we are exposed to other people's works and have ours shown to the public as well.
