GBG Yogyakarta #5 Workshop Recap

GBG Chapter Yogyakarta hosted a workshop on Monday, 16 July 2012 at Dixie Easy Dining, attended by approximately 50 person.

Opened by Yansen Kamto, he gave a warm welcome to the new members and also review and a quick round up of Google Business Group activities in Jakarta, Surabaya, Jogja, Semarang, and Bali, the youngest chapter that just launched..

The main topic was delivered by Aileen Apolo on how to optimize and Google+ for brand.

GBG Bali #1 Meetup Recap

On Friday, July 13, 2012, GBG Bali held its first meet up at Gedung Indosat Bali. Attended by approximately 70 people, the event was warm and lively.

Adi Setiawan, GBG Manager for Bali opened the event, followed by Yansen Kamto that introducing the Google Business Group community. After that, Henky Prihatna explained about engaging your business with Google+.

Next session was brought by James McClure, explained all about YouTube Mobile and how to engage your business with online video on YouTube.

Dennis Adishwara, a special guest at the session explained about Indonesia Web Series Community. As the founder, he explained about what is web series and what does the community is about. He also showed some videos made by some members of the community. The event closed by sharing and discussion with all the speakers plus Aileen Apolo, Head of Outreach, Google South Asia.

For the very first time in Yogya, Google Business Group will be having a workshop on Google+. The workshop will discuss on how to use Google+, including case studies and setting up brand campaign using G+. Set up your own G+ account easily as well as for your brand.

GBG Yogya #4 Meetup: Sharing, Connect, and Inspire

It’s been a successful meet ups in the past 4 months. At the fourth meetup, GBG Yogyakarta decided to try a new way of sharing.

We switched the seminar format into a panel discussion. Inviting experts to share their success stories, as well as enlightening moments of their online business.

To open the session, Mohamad Ridwan as the Managing Director of SME’s Clinic Business Consultancy introduce Pungkas Riandika as the Manager of Google Business Group Yogyakarta. 

On the first session, the stage are given to Arif from the Association of Computer Indonesia chapter Yogyakarta. He delivered some tips on getting new hardware without doubts and risks. After that, Teddie Dian Patria shared about personal insights on having a successful online business,  where he grow Bakoel Store from scratch.

In the middle of our sharing session, Mrs. Anna the Mayor’s wife drop by to join the meet ups. So we give her the stage and asked her to give tips on the importance of having a glocalize spirit in this new business era: think local, act global.

Google Business Group Jakarta #4 Meetup

On 7th July 2012, GBG Jakarta was held at Estubizi Business Centre, Setiabudi Building. The topic for this event is YouTube for Business.

Yansen Kamto opened the event, and the first session was started by Henky Prihatna, Indonesia Country Consultant from Google. He explained all about YouTube and how to engage your business with online video, especially on YouTube.

The next presentation was brought by Dennis Adishwara. As the founder of Indonesia Web Series Community, he explained about what is web series and what does the community is about. He also showed some videos made by some members of the community.

For example is Sutiknyo, also known as Tekno Bolang, a travel video blogger that shows the beauty of Indonesia.

The next session was talkshow with Jessica and Elisa Yamada, owners of online boutique gowigasa.com. They also use YouTube and online video as a tool to promote their online shop.

Last session was brought by Kohar, also known as Koharo, which recently get his "15 minutes of fame" by doing the famous Koharo dance.

Dennis will be sharing some interesting contents that have been published by the community, including from Sutiknyo who have tons of beautiful shots from across Indonesia and Koharo who dances the way you've never seen before.

Last but not least, we will have a casual chat with the beautiful sisters from Gowigasa.com, Elissa and Jessica Yamada, on how they have been using online video for their fashion business.

GBG Goes to Malang & Surabaya

On 29 June 2012, GBG went to Malang for the first time. Supported by Stasion community in Malang, Google Business Group had a fun sharing session at Universitas Brawijaya. Danton Prabawanto, GBG Surabaya Manager opened the session with introduction to GBG, followed by Yansen Kamto on quick insights on Indonesia digital landscape and a look into the potential for small medium businesses. Henky Prihatna, Google Indonesia Country Consultant, had the most fun with the Google+ topic and introduction to Google AdWords.

The day after, 30 June 2012, the first GBG Surabaya Workshop was held at Auditorium Gedung Indosat Surabaya. It was attended by 80 people in total, who are mostly entrepreneurs and SMEs. Started at around 9 AM, participants were very enthusiastic to get the knowledge about Google Business Group and Google AdWords.

The session was opened by Danton who explained about GBG, followed by brief introduction from Yansen. Then Henky continued the session and delivered the workshop on Google AdWords. It went so interactive as the audience got the chance to set up their AdWords on the spot.

Later on, Aileen Apolo, Head of Outreach from Google South Asia continued with the topic of Google+ Page for Business. The interesting part was that Aileen delivered the materials online through Google+ Hangout, live from Singapore. The audience was keen to find out and try Google+ features and the session was closed with Q&A session.
